WELCOME TO 5 STAR ELECTRICAL LLC.
Founded in 2018, we built this company around one idea: the customer should never have to chase us for answers. Free, no-obligation quotes. Permits and inspections handled in-house by our own office team. A dedicated support line that a real person answers. Small repair or full commercial fit-out, the standard does not move.
Our owner still reviews the estimates, and our crews still take photos of the work before the walls close.
- Free, no-obligation estimates on every project
- Permits and inspections managed start to finish
- Licensed and insured across Georgia
- A 4.9-star rating from Google reviewers
- Georgia Electrical Contractor License EN217655
ATLANTA RUNS ON CIRCUITS NOBODY THINKS ABOUT.
A retail store loses a day of sales when a panel will not hold. A homeowner loses sleep over a breaker that trips at two in the morning. Neither problem announces itself politely, and neither one waits for business hours. 5 Star Electrical LLC built our crews around that reality. Our electricians carry the meters, the thermal camera, and the patience to trace a fault back to its actual source instead of swapping parts until something changes. Then we document what we found, so the next person who opens that panel is not guessing.
TIDY WORK IS THE POINT, NOT A BONUS.
Straight conduit runs, labeled circuits, torqued lugs, and a panel schedule somebody can actually read. Those details cost us time on the day and save our customers years of confusion afterward. We protect floors, clean up before we leave, and treat an occupied office or a family kitchen like somewhere people have to live once we drive away. The inspection is a checkpoint, not the finish line.

OUR ELECTRICAL SERVICES
WHAT WE DO
Twelve services, split down the middle between commercial buildings and the homes around them. Each one gets the same licensed crew, the same permit handling, and the same written record at the end.

Commercial New Construction Electrical
Ground-up wiring for offices, retail, and warehouse shells, coordinated with your general contractor from slab rough-in through commissioning. We size the service for the loads you will actually run, then leave documented spare capacity for whatever comes next.
- Load calculations and panel schedules
- Rough-in through final inspection

Tenant Improvements & Electrical Build-Outs
Turning an empty suite into a working space means new lighting layouts, added circuits, data pathways, and demising walls that respect working clearances. We have delivered fit-outs for retailers and fitness brands across Georgia without missing an opening date.
- Existing panel capacity verified first
- Lighting, power, and low-voltage pathways

Commercial Electrical Troubleshooting
Nuisance trips, flickering LEDs, warm breakers, and voltage that sags every time a compressor kicks on. We trace the fault to its source with meters and thermal imaging rather than replacing components until the symptom disappears on its own.
- Thermal imaging and load logging
- Written findings after every call
Switchgear Installation & Upgrades
Gear that controls, protects, and isolates your building's power deserves more than a like-for-like swap. We assess interrupting ratings, plan the changeover around your operating hours, and stage temporary power so the lights stay on during the cutover.
- Interrupting ratings verified against fault current
- Cutover planned around your operating schedule

Commercial Panel & Distribution Upgrades
When breakers sit at capacity and there is nowhere left to land a circuit, the panel is the bottleneck. We measure real demand before recommending amperage, then upsize distribution with room left for equipment you have not bought yet.
- Recorded demand study before sizing
- Sub-panels, feeders, and distribution gear

Commercial Lighting & LED Retrofits
Swapping metal halide for LED cuts lighting energy by half or better and drops cooling load along with it. We handle fixture selection, occupancy controls, emergency egress compliance, and the paperwork your utility rebate program asks for.
- High-bay, troffer, and exterior fixtures
- Controls and egress lighting compliance

Common Questions
frequently asked
questions.
The questions below come up on nearly every call we take, from first-time homeowners to facility managers running multiple sites. If yours is not here, our office is happy to answer it.
How can I tell whether an electrical problem needs immediate attention?
Burning smells, scorch marks, buzzing panels, warm faceplates, and repeated tripping all mean stop and call somebody immediately. Flickering on a single fixture can usually wait a day or two. Anything you can smell, hear, or feel by hand cannot wait at all.
Which edition of the National Electrical Code does Georgia enforce?
Georgia adopted the 2023 edition as a mandatory state minimum standard effective January 1, 2025, replacing the 2020 edition it had enforced since 2021. Work permitted after that date is inspected against the newer rules, which expanded GFCI and AFCI coverage noticeably.
Do I need a permit for electrical work in Atlanta?
A permit is required to install, repair, or replace electrical equipment, residential or commercial. Panel changes, new circuits, rewiring, and charger installations all qualify. 5 Star Electrical LLC files the application and books the inspection for every job we run in Atlanta, GA.
How often should an electrical system be inspected?
Every 10 years for a modern home, every 5 for anything built before 1980, and annually for commercial buildings running heavy equipment. Buying, selling, adding major load, or noticing repeated nuisance trips are all good reasons to look sooner than that.
